(A Long time ago)
You strolled down the empty hallway and smiled softly, gently you placed a hand on the shoulder of one of the maids. The castle was bustling with excitement and preparations for the ball that would be held later that evening. Elaborate decorations and portraits lined the walls while statues were shined and instruments were being tuned. The chiefs were busy cooking and the castle smelled delicious to say the least while maids rushed around cleaning every inch of the castle. "Excuse me, do you know if Lord Gilbert is in his room?" you asked her quietly. The maid looked nervous as she stopped her cleaning. "Oh Princess ___, yes my lady, he is in his room. He just finished his fencing practice," she explained. You nodded and thanked her as you continued down the hall to the room you had visited many times when you had been younger. You raised a hand up and knocked on the wood gently, even with such a quiet knock Gilbert heard it and yanked the door open with a big grin. "Hallo ___," he said and brushed some of his silver hair out of his face.
"Prince Gilbert..." you started but he cut you off by holding up a hand. He pouted adorably at you and shook his head. "I told you, just call my awesome Gilbert or awesome Prussia, non-existent country is not allowed," Prussia insisted. You nodded and smiled a little, you looked down and smoothed out your dress."Prussia... Gilbert, can... you do me a favor?" you asked quietly and glanced around the castle. The silver haired teen frowned and adjusted his casual tunic as he studied you, his crimson eyes studying you with concern. "What is it frau?" he asked since it was rare to see a lady such as yourself without a smile. Prussia and Germany had been friends with you for as long as he could remember and nothing seemed to be able to bring you down. You had always been one of those strong people that he depended on and he could definitely tell when something was wrong. You bit your bottom lip lightly and fingered the ring that rested around your finger. "It's about Ludwig..." you started and your ___ colored eyes met his crimson ones. You told him your request and not one 'kesesese' escaped from his lips due to the seriousness of your request. The albino gulped but gave you a sad smile. "Of course my lady," he replied and bowed deeply, your heart trembled.
Yeah, Finally I realize that I am nothing without you
I was so wrong, forgive me
Ah ah ah ah
You stood beside Gilbert and smiled sheepishly when he complimented your dress. It actually was quite a simple but elegant white dress that was a little puffy but still showed off your figure and had little stars embroidered into it. Your silver haired friend on the other hand wore a nice tux and continued to mess up his tie on purpose just so you would have to fix it. The two of you swayed lightly to the music that echoed through the large hall. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Gilbert asked out of the blue since he noticed how your eyes kept wandering, looking for a certain blonde. You took a deep breath and smiled sadly, giving him a nod. He nodded back and held out a hand to you when he saw his younger brother approaching. "Now or never meine kleine Prinzessin," he whispered. You spared one last glance towards Germany, your fiancé, before turning back to Prussia and slipping him a ring. "Thank you," you whispered to him and he leaned forward, whispering into your ear.
Germany frowned as he approached the two of you. "What's going on Bruder?" he asked. Prussia gently placed a hand on your arm before pushing you behind him protectively. "Go," Prussia said and sent you one last look as his friends Francis and Antonio rushed you away. Germany moved to go after you and Prussia placed a hand on his chest, stopping him and earning a glare from Germany. "She doesn't like you any more Bruder, she's found someone more awesome," he said and smirked. Germany eyed his brother for a moment but figured out quickly that his usually ridiculous older brother was being quite serious. "What have you done?" Prince Ludwig hissed and shoved Prussia's hand off his chest. Prussia tilted his head cockily and adjusted his tux. He knew he would have to push his brother farther; you were already an important topic to him so he would only need another little push to set him off. "Oh nothing, just showed her my five meters, proving that I would be a much better choice for her than you. Besides I am older than you and should of course be the one to marry Prinzessin ___," he said.
Something snapped in Germany, Prince or not he loved you and wouldn't listen to this nonsense. "Who the hell do you think you are Prussia?! You're my brother and the closest friend I have and you go and pull something like this? I love ___ and you know that more than anyone. She is my world and my heart! You fucking bastard," Germany whispered, his face within inches of Prussia's as he breathed heavily with anger. Ludwig swung his arm back and then punched Prussia hard, causing his older brother to stumble back. "V-Ve! G-G-Germany, what are you doing!?" Italy asked as he tried to calm down his friend. Prussia wiped his lips and before Italy could get between them, threw a punch right back at his brother. France rushed back over with Antonio in tow. "Hey, what's going on amigos? Calm down," Antonio said with intense green eyes as he tried to separate the two brothers. Prussia shrugged Antonio's hold off and rushed at his brother again; Germany knocked his older brother over and grabbed him by the collar of his dress shirt. "How could you do this?" Germany snapped. Knights and friends separated the two brothers with much effort.
Prussia wiped his mouth as he watched his brother walk away with the knights. France and Spain stood loyally at his side but looked distressed. The two brothers spared one last glance at each other.
My broken heart like a wave
My shaken heart like a wind
My heart vanished like smoke
It can't be removed like a tattoo
I sigh deeply as if a ground is going to cave in
Only dusts are piled up in my mind
Once in his room Germany stomped about and shoved vases off of their tables. He knew he should calm down but you had his heart and he didn't want to give you up, especially not to his bastard bruder. Ludwig rushed into the bathroom and splashed cold water on his bruised and cut face. Slowly he pressed a towel to his face then peered at his reflection in the mirror. His blue eyes met and they almost didn't look familiar due to how much anger and hurt could be seen in them. Ludwig raised and fist and smashed it into the mirror, shattering the glass and cutting his knuckles. He couldn't afford to lose you, and so suddenly, it was out of nowhere and you hadn't even talk to him about it. What was he supposed to do?
Yeah, I thought I wouldn't be able to live even one day without you
But somehow I managed to live on (longer) than I thought
You don't answer anything as I cry out "I miss you"
I hope for a vain expectation but now it's useless
Don't look back and leave
Don't find me again and live (on)
Because I have no regrets from loving you, take only the good memories
I can bear it in some way
I can stand in some way
You should be happy if you are like this
I become dull day by day (eh eh eh eh)
Oh girl I cry, cry
You're my all, say goodbye...
Prussia finished placing the saddle on his horse and glanced up at his brother Germany as he walked by. You pinched Prussia's cheek lightly and your ___ colored eyes met Germany's blue ones for a moment. Prussia glanced between the two of you. "Get on meine Prinzessin, kesesese," he cooed with a small laugh. He held out a hand to you and assisted you onto the horse before climbing on behind you so that his arms had to be wrapped around you so that he could hold onto the reins. Germany clenched his fists and continued to walk, ignoring the aching pain in his chest. You leaned back against Prussia and closed your eyes to keep tears from falling from your eyes.
The next couple days were tough. You would walk past Germany in the castle halls and everyday he'd look even more pale and injured. He was hurting himself and you were the cause of this but you still felt that maybe, just maybe your choice was still a correct one. How long would you be able to pull off this act?
What is it about that person next to you, did he make you cry?
Dear can you even see me, did you forget completely?
I am worried, I feel anxiety because I can't get close nor try to talk to you
I spend long nights by myself, erasing my thoughts a thousand times
Quietly you slipped into the horses stable and peered around. "Prince Ludwig?" you whispered quietly and picked up some of your dress so that it didn't brush against the hay or the dusty floor. You squealed when arms wrapped themselves around your waist and pulled you backwards into the stack of hay. When you looked up, you spotted Germany with a small, amused smile on his face and he almost looked like he could laugh. "Now look at what you have done," you said and laughed quietly as the two of you picked hay out of your beautiful ___ length, ___ colored hair. Once most of the hay was out of your hair, he pulled you back so that you rested your back against his chest. "Hold up your hand," he whispered in your ear, causing goose bumps to spread across your arms. You did as he said and held up your hand so that your palm faced away from the two of you. Germany slipped a ring onto your finger and your face became bright red. Even in the dark of the night, the shade of red that had spread across your cheeks was evident. "Willst du mich heiraten Prinzessin ___?" he asked. You slowly turn to face him and place your hands on his cheeks. "Yes, a million times yes," you replied and rested your forehead against his with a loving smile. Germany sighed of relief and his posture seemed to relax. "I've asked my parents and your mother and father for your hand in marriage. They said ja. It will also unite the two kingdoms and bring peace," he told you and placed a passionate but short kiss to your lips. When he pulled away you were both breathless and smiling widely.
Now Germany laid back in the hay and you lied beside him, he squeezed your hand. Not only would you two not have to sneak around anymore but you also would get to be together forever. Just before you fell asleep in the uncomfortable hay, Germany whispered, "We will be together forever."
If we pass by each other on the street
Act like you didn't see me and go the way you were walking to
If you keep thinking about our past memories
I might go look for you secretly
You returned to your room after a long day and rushed into the bathroom. Quickly you placed a hand to your mouth as you started to gag before leaning over the toilet to throw up. Your stomach churned and you wiped blood from your mouth. The world spun and you felt extremely nauseous. Slowly you sat against the wall for support and you ran your fingers through your messy hair, trying to take deep breaths.
Prussia rushed into the room later on that night and his crimson eyes widened in surprise to see just how sick you were getting in such a small amount of time. "___, we have to get you to the doctor, you can't just wait it out anymore. You are awesome but you don't have to go through this alone," he insisted as he helped you stand. Reluctantly you agreed and let him take you to the family doctor.
France followed Spain down the castle hallway. "Where are we going?" France asked in confusion and flipped some of his golden hair over his shoulder as he rushed to keep up with Antonio. "Prussia wants us to check on his hermano," Antonio said hurriedly and stopped outside of Germany's open door. Both of the Bad Touch Trio members peered into the room to see the bedroom badly destroyed. All the mirrors in the room had been shattered, books and papers laid scattered about the floor along with feathers. Chairs were toppled over, paintings had fallen off the walls, books were spread about the floor, and almost nothing was left undestroyed. Sitting in the middle of the mess was Germany who looked crushed and defeated, almost like had had just given up on everything. "Que necesita ayudar," Spain whispered to France. The blonde nodded in agreement and frowned deeply before turning and heading to the room where you were being held and being taken care of by the doctors.
Always be happy with him, (so) I won't ever get a different mind
Even smallest regret won't be left out ever
Please live well as if I should feel jealous
You should always be like that bright sky, like that white cloud
Yes, you should always smile like that as if nothing happened
Prussia helped you sit up in your bed and you depended greatly on his support. You smiled fondly at the nations that surrounded you: France, Spain, Italy, Prussia, and Japan. "Thank you for supporting and being here for me," you told all of them. You were glad to have such great friends but you still wished your love Germany was here. 'No, it's better if he doesn't know,' you thought to yourself. Japan stared at you with thoughtful brown eyes and he slowly walked out of the room. He pulled aside a messenger and whispered a message to him so that it could be delivered to Germany.
"Sick... ___ is sick?" Germany sputtered staring at the messenger in shock. The boy nodded and took a deep breath, deciding that he better finish off the bad news before time ran out. "Princess ___ is very sick Prince Ludwig, she won't make it through the night," the messenger said. Ludwig's blue eyes widened and he took off back towards the castle and away from his archery practice. '___ is going to die and I haven't been there for her!' he thought frantically as he ran. He ran into the chef, causing the poor man to drop the meal he had been carrying. "Es tut mir leid," he apologized and continued running. He nearly ran into several maids and servants that were taking care of the castle. Several times he had to wipe tears from his face. Germany took the stairs in twos and nearly tripped several times but the only person and worry on his mind was you.
Germany slowed at the top of the stairs when he spotted his bruder Prussia waiting for him. He tried to walk around the idiot but his arm was grabbed. Blue eyes met crimson eyes and Prussia slipped a ring into his bruder's hand. "She always loved you Ludwig, she never stopped loving you. When she found out she was sick, she didn't want to hurt you and she knew that it was a very bad sickness. The only reason she started to hang out with me more was because she felt that if she put more space between the two of you that it would hurt less. She just didn't want to hurt you anymore than she had to. I'm sorry," Prussia told his brother. Germany took a shaky breath and nodded his head before rushing towards the room. Japan, France, Italy, and Spain all stood outside of the room waiting to hear about your condition. Germany banged on the door and leaned against it, his heart felt like it would explode. "No," he whispered and squeezed the ring tightly in his hand. Italy rushed over to his best friend. "Germany..." Italy whispered and hugged the taller man tightly. Germany didn't yell or snap at him for the embrace, he actually appreciated the hug. Japan walked over and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder. Germany looked at both of them gratefully.
I hope your heart fees relieved
Please forget about me and live (on)
Those tears will dry completely
As time passes by
It would've hurt less if we didn't meet at all (mm)
Hope you will bury our promise of being together forever baby
I pray for you
The doctor stepped out of the room and studied all the countries present. He shook his head sadly and allowed ___'s parents into the room to see their daughter first. It was a very long time before Germany was finally allowed into the room. Ludwig slowly lowered himself down beside the bed and held your cold hand in his own. "Who knew forever would be so short?" he whispered and tears streamed down his face. He brushed some of your ___ locks out of your hair and placed a kiss to your lips. "You're my all and I love you, I've always loved you. I never hated you, even when you were with Prussia. I will wait for you and we will be together again... just you wait," Germany whispered and rested his forehead against your shoulder, closing his blue eyes.
Oh girl I cry, cry
You're my all, say goodbye, bye
Oh my love don't lie, lie
You're my heart, say goodbye
Prussia placed a hand to his heart and shook his head. There had to be something he could do and there was only one person he could think to visit, Lord Arthur Kirkland who claimed to be able to do magic. Maybe... he could bring you back for his brother..
Extended Ending (Present time): For clarification, you got reborn.
"Hey bruder, you have to meet this awesome girl!" Prussia said as he approached the bar where his bruder sat with a beer. Germany glanced warily at his bruder and shook his head with a sigh. "Gilbert..." he started but his bruder refused to be cut off because the albino held up a hand to stop him. Gilbert stepped aside and you took a step forward with a timid smile. "H-Hello... I just thought you looked really familiar and I had seen this guy with you. He said I really should say hi," you said. Germany's blue eyes widened to see that you looked exactly like his love Prinzessin ___, you had the same shade of ___ colored hair and caring, warm ___ colored eyes. Even your smile made his heart tremble. You held out a hand and flashed him a more confident smile. "I'm ___," you said and raised your eye brows at him. Ludwig set his cup down and slowly turned to face you completely. Now he took your hand and shook it. "Ludwig," he replied and you gave him a confused look. You swore you knew the name and he looked so familiar. "Well Ludwig, it's nice to meet you. This may be odd but I feel like I should tell you this: Maybe you should give forever another chance," you told him. Germany smiled softly, he know that this was indeed you. 'Another chance... Ja, I think I will,' he thought. "Can I offer you a drink ___?" he asked and couldn't help but smile after you smiled. You slid onto the stool beside his and gladly accepted his offer and the two of you began to talk.
Prussia walked away from the two of you to the back of the room and leaned against the wall, watching over the two of you protectively. Germany hadn't smiled like that since he had lost his fiancé, Prinzessin ___ and it was heart-warming to see the two of you united again after so many years. "Come on Gilbird, ___ would want time alone with my bruder. They are perfect for each other," he said and the small yellow chick chirped in agreement.
